Color Dare #319 - Monochromatic "Choose Your Blues"

Welcome to my blog, Paper Crafting With Rebecca!

I am participating in a Color Dare this week. The challenge this week was to "create a monochromatic project using only Blues and Neutrals of your choice." Since I am already in the groove of making Christmas cards for next month, I decided to make a "Blue Christmas" card to enter in the color dare.

I started with gathering some Close To My Heart (CTMH) supplies and papers. The blues I chose are Crystal Blue, Peacock, and Sapphire.

I used a CTMH Stamp & Thin Cuts set that is surprisingly versatile. I didn't realize I was going to use this set as much as I have ended up using it since purchasing it.

I started by cutting the peacock blue cardstock to 4.25" x 11" to fold and use as my card base. Then I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and a piece of crystal blue cardstock to 3.25" x 5". I ran the crystal blue cardstock through my Cricut Cuttlebug in the CTMH dots embossing folder.

Next I stamped and clear heat embossed the ornaments. I made sure to make a few extra ornaments at this stage to decorate the inside of the card as well as the envelope. I used the sentiments from the same ornament stamp set. Then I simply adhered all the parts together.

Now the card is ready for my personal note. I hope it will help to make the receiver's Christmas anything but blue!

Happy Paper Crafting,
Rebecca
