Color Dare #324 - Oh What Fun

Welcome to my blog, Paper Crafting With Rebecca!

It is time for another Color Dare! The challenge this time is a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. That means that we are given a color board of nine colors and are to choose a row, column or diagonal of three colors to work with. I chose the bottom row: White Daisy, Raspberry, and Pixie. So let the fun begin!

First, let's gather some supplies. Of course there is the cardstock in the three chosen colors, but I also used a CTMH Pixie ink pad, a border die to run through my Cricut Cuttlebug, and my CTMH Background Essential (D1750) stamp and my Stamp & Thin Cuts Z4172 stamps and dies.

I used the Raspberry cardstock to make a base card by cutting it to 8.5" x 5.5" and then folding it in half to create a side-opening card. Next I cut the Pixie cardstock to 5.25" x 4" and the White Daisy cardstock to 5" x 3.75". I also cut a strip of boarder, using a die, out of the Raspberry cardstock. If you want to recreate this card you can use any border die you have in your stash, ribbon, Washi tape, or even a strip of paper.

Then it was a simple matter of stamping the bottom of the white piece of cardstock with a background stamp using the Pixie ink pad and stamping the sentiment using the same ink pad. In retrospect I suppose I should have used a darker ink, but I was trying to be a "purist" this challenge and use only the three chosen colors (and my Raspberry ink pad needs to be re-inked).

Next I simply made a few flowers using my Pixie ink pad on the Raspberry cardstock. Once all the inking was done it was a quick finish by simply adhering all the parts together! I popped the flowers up with some foam tape and added three pearl embellishments that matched the Pixie perfectly!

And there it is... a simple, but sweet, card made out of the three colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe color board: White Daisy, Raspberry, and Pixie! Thank you for reading my blog, and if you have any questions or comments about the products used (or the techniques I employed) then please leave me a message in the comment section below. I love reading your suggestions, ideas, and comments.

Happy Paper Crafting,
Rebecca

    1. Thank you Michelle! Sometimes it is fun to make an “all purpose” card that will mail easily. I sometimes get carried away with my embellishments and occasionally need to remind myself to “keep it simple” for something different.

    1. Thank you Tracey! I made a conscious effort to keep this card simple this time. Sometimes I get carried away with too many embellishments, or too much “busy” on a card... tried to channel a more “cheerful calmness” for this design.
