The last Color Dare was so fun I simply couldn't resist joining in again! Doing a Color Dare is a great way to take your mind off all the Covid-19 news and find some fun during our self quarantine as we work to "flatten the curve". If you would like to join in and enter your creation (or if you simply want to see the rules and other entries) click on the link below the color palette.

I love all these colors! It was difficult to decide which row/column to go with... but I decided to go with the Candy Apple, Peach, Linen line. I decided to show that these colors and hearts can be used for more than just Valentines cards! See what I did below...

To start with I pulled out my Candy Apple Exclusive Ink Stamp Pad, my Peach Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, a retired Linen Pigment Ink, and a Close To My Heart (CTMH) retired stamp set.

Then I chose some White Daisy Cardstock to make my A2 card base with and for the top layer of the card. I also selected some Candy Apple Cardstock and cut it to 4" x 5.25".

Using the Linen pigment ink I stamped some hearts around the edge of the Candy Apple cardstock piece, then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Once the heat embossing was completed I used an embossing folder to add texture to the sheet of red cardstock. The heat embossed hearts float around edge barely visible but visible enough to add interest to the card.

Next I took a piece of the white cardstock and stamped some scattered hearts using the Peach ink. I plan to trim this piece down once the stamping is completed. For now I sat it aside and stamped the inside of the card in both the Candy Apple and the Peach.

Once the peach hearts were dry I stamped the front piece of white cardstock in Candy Apple with my "life is tough..." stamp. Then I trimmed this piece down to 4.5" x 3.25". Now it is a matter of adhering all the pieces together.

I adhered the Candy Apple cardstock directly to the card base, then adhered the top sentiment piece to the red using foam tape for dimension. Lastly I used some Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops to add some sparkle to the front of the card.

This is a fairly simple card, but one I hope provides some encouragement to the person receiving it. If you have any questions or comments then please do leave them for me in the comments below. In the meantime, stay home, and stay health.

Happy Paper Crafting,
Rebecca
