Card Making With Napkins and Newspapers

I had a request to show how I use paper napkins in my paper crafting (especially for card making). So I decided to create a video showing step by step how I do that! I also included how to use newspapers, too. Here is my video for you to watch and then I'll provide more information below...

As you can see from the video there is a lot of fun to be had with newspapers and napkins in paper crafting! The techniques in this video can be used in card making, scrapbooking, party decor or home decor.

I am always drawn to the sale bin at various houseware stores where I often find such pretty napkins thrown in at super reduced prices. It is so fun to create beautiful works of art with something so reasonably priced.

You may remember my experiment of adhering paper napkins to cardstock using plastic wrap. Here is the video about that...

As you can tell by my reaction in that video, I was (and continue to be) rather dubious of the longevity of the results using this "iron-on" style of adhesion. I think I'll stick to decoupage on my paper crafting projects.

Here are a couple of shots of the card created using the more reliable decoupage style...

This is a standard A2 sized card. I "fussy cut" the butterflies

I added to the sentiment and the ribbon.

This is a very simply and nearly flat A2 card, perfect for mailing.

I die-cut the "happy birthday" out of gold paper and adhered it on

top of two layers of the same "happy birthday"cut out of black.

As you can see in the video... this card incorporates a lot of techniques!
