Challenge YOUrself #93 - A Friend's Challenge

Welcome to Paper Crafting With Rebecca! I appreciate you taking time to pop in for this little visit. Today's blog entry is all about a scrapbook page I am putting up for consideration in a "Challenge YOUrself" challenge. This is #93 and it is titled "A Friends Challenge!" To learn more click on the link below:

I have some friends who are so very very dear to me, but when you ask me "who is your best friend" my husband is the first person who pops into my head! He has stuck with me through "thick and thin", listens to (and tries to fulfill) my dreams, has seen me at my best and my worst... but still stays by my side. We laugh together, cry together, and simply love spending time together! That is why I chose him as my "friend" to base this page on.

As for the layout of my page... I "scrap lifted" the layout from a page I saw by @donnaespiritu25 on Instagram. I love the colorful happiness that is her page so I couldn't resist playing with her layout for my page, too.

Please know that I am not selling anything. I am NOT sponsored by (nor an affiliate of) any of the products you see used on this scrapbook page. Any products I mention are for information purposes only.

Here are a few pictures and comments about my page as it all comes together:

First I got into my paper stash (the paper collection I
used was "Shake It Chic" by craftsmart)
and I die cut four each of the tags and circles.
My photos measure 1.25" x 2".

Then I carefully die cut a journaling card
from the same paper collection into a tag shape.

Next I "fussy cut" the "Hello Friend" from one of the
"cut apart" cards included in the collection.

I cut out two 12" strips of three different papers in
the collection. I used my scallop scissors to cut a
scalloped edge on one of the strips.

This cool piece of 12' x 12" paper was in the collection!

I glued the first strip 1" up from the bottom edge of the page.

Then I glued the second strip 1" from the edge of the page.

I then added the scalloped strips along the edge of the first strip.
As long as your first strip is straight the rest will go on easy.

Next, using foam tape, I added the third strip over the top
of the first two. Remember to not put foam tape where
the two strips cross.

Once my "frame" was completed I added the tags, touching
each other as seen above. I placed the fourth tag so it is
overlapping the "frame" a little bit to make it feel anchored.

Once the pictures were on all that was left to do was add
my "Hello Friend" title and my journaling (along with a
few embellishments... mostly from Dollar Tree... scattered around).

I am pleased with how this page turned out and it makes me smile when I realize I get to see my "best friend" every morning when I wake up! What a lucky lady I am .

Thank you for stopping in and reading my blog today. I appreciate you and I appreciate any comments you leave below for me!

Happy Paper Crafting!
Rebecca
