Today I am entering a Heart2Heart Challenge which has teamed up with the Double Trouble Paper Crafting group for some added fun. If you would like to see the rules or join in on the challenge please click the link below...
I hadn't realized until this challenge how very seldom I use green cardstock. Yes, I use it during the Christmas season, and a "poison green" or two for Halloween, but when I went to the storage box which contains my Close To My Heart (CTMH) scrap paper, there just weren't a whole lot of greens in there!
Not being sure what I wanted to create, I browsed through my various sources of inspiration... my CTMH Idea Books, various card magazines... but I didn't "feel" that inspiration until I looked in my Cricut Access projects file. There I found the card that inspired me for this challenge (I simply added my own bits here and there).
To start with I customized my card design in my Cricut Design Space and then I cut out the pieces using my Cricut Explore Air. I also gathered together some CTMH Willow ink and a CTMH discontinued background stamp set (D1750). However, any background stamp would have worked for this project, including Background Builders or Border Medley.
I used the background stamp to add some life to my plain cardstock. This is an easy way to create your own patterned paper.
Next it was just a matter of assembly. I used my Bonding Memories Broad Tip Glue Pen to adhere all the parts together. Lastly, I applied three green rhinestones from my stash to help balance out the bling of the Gold Glitter Paper.
That card was simple and fun to make. I really should work with green more often! 😉
