A Bit of This a Bit of That

May 4, 2019 - National Scrapbooking Day!

Life has been busy and fun in my household! We took some time off to drive out and visit with my parents in Texas (so I was out of my craft room and offline for a bit), we've been planting spring flowers, and spending a bit of time with our sweet kids and granddaughter... all things I love to do!

However, I thought you might like to see a couple of paper crafting projects from this month. First, let me tell you about the Mother's Day card I made for my mother.

The basic card design is from Dreaming Tree, but then I added some components and adapted it for Mother's Day. I used cardstock and papers from Close To My Heart and from my stash. I also used Nuvo Glitter Drops as an embellishment. I cut the design out using my Cricut Explore Air.

Of course, besides Mother's Day, the other big event for this month is National Scrapbooking Day! The actual "day" was on May 4th, but the sales and celebrations go on all month long in the scrapbooking world.

Currently, I am going through boxes of old pictures trying to sort and organize them for scrapbooking. Here is a masculine 12" x 12" page I made this month showing my hubby and our little boy snuggled up in a warm bed reading on a cold winter's night many years ago. We didn't own a TV back then so we went through a lot of books!

I am also working on another 8.5" x 11" scrapbook which focuses on time spent with our granddaughter. Here are a couple of pages I recently made for that scrapbook. Both of these pages were made with paper and embellishments from the CTMH Sweet Girl Paper Packet. Although this is not a traditional sized scrapbook, I find this size easy to store on the bookshelf.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. If you have any questions on any of the supplies or techniques I used on these paper crafting projects please be sure to leave them for me in the comment section below. I love hearing from you!

Happy Paper Crafting,
Rebecca
