Color Dare #372 - Cedar and Pine TicTacToe

Welcome to my blog, Paper Crafting With Rebecca!

If you are a paper crafter I am sure that you have been busy making beautiful creations for this holiday season... I know I have! I thought you might like to see this particular card I created as I also entered it in the Color Dare #372. For this Color Dare I needed to choose a row or column of colors off this tic-tac-toe board....

Being as I am still in the Christmas Spirit, and have a few more cards I need to make and mail, I chose to use the Candy Apple, Evergreen and Gold column utilizing the CTMH Cedar & Pine Coordinating Cardstock collection. Such pretty colors and so much fun!

To start with I pulled out my supplies.

I decided to use a retire CTMH stamp set for this card, but you could use any holiday stamp set you have on hand. I chose this one because of the tiny trees and stars.

I am making my own "background" cardstock. To start I stamped trees using my Evergreen ink onto a small piece of White Daisy cardstock I had in my scrap drawer.

Next I added the Candy Apple stamped trees.

Now let's fill in the blank areas with some Evergreen stamped tiny stars.

Lastly, to complete this background stamping, let's add some Candy Apple inked stars.

For my sentiment I pulled out another retired CTMH holiday stamp set, but again,
you can use whatever holiday stamp set you have on hand.

First I stamped the sentiment...

Then I used a die cut to cut my stamped sentiment out.
I also cut out a size larger circle using the Evergreen Cardstock.

Next step was to cut a piecer of the Candy Apple Cardstock out to measure 4" x 5.25". I also ran this piece of cardstock through my Cricut Cuttlebug using a snowflake embossing folder from my stash.

Now it was just a matter of putting all my components together! I decided to add a bit more sparkle by cutting out some snowflakes using a snowflake punch I have had forever. Some paper crafting tools are good for a lifetime!

We mustn't forget to the inside of the card, too!

So there you have it! A simple, but festive, holiday card! I hope you enjoyed reading today's blog. As per usual, if you have any questions or comments I love to read them so be sure to add them below!

Wishing you the Happiest of Holidays as you celebrate this lovely season.

Happy Paper Crafting,
Rebecca
