Color Dare #382 - Purple Monochromatic

Welcome to my blog, Paper Crafting With Rebecca!

As you may already know... purple is my favorite color! So I couldn't resist joining in on this Monochromatic - Purples Color Dare #382! If you want to enter the dare, or see the complete rules for the Color Dare, then click the link and join in on the fun!

For my purple project I was inspired by a card I saw by Kristina Werner. To give her credit where credit is due I will link her card here → Kristina's card.

Obviously, I used different materials, a slightly different technique, and of course PURPLES instead of blues to create my card. So let's look at the details...

I am not going to use stencils like Kristina did, instead I used stamps only.

Since I was going to use stamps instead of a stencil I did some creative masking. First I masked off where I knew I wanted the sentiment to be stamped on my 4" x 6" piece of white cardstock.

Next I created a mask to prevent my sentiment area from getting stamped and ink blended. I used post-it notes (the pink paper) and a piece of scratch computer paper to do this.

Next came the fun part... stamping! I stamped my flowers with CTMH Eggplant Exclusive Ink and then removed the top masking.

Next I lined up my sentiment stamp and stamped my sentiment using Memento ink. I chose to use the Memento ink so there would be minimal smearing during the ink blending stage.

Next I pulled out my Distress Inks in Shaded Lilac, Milled Lavender, and Dusty Concord to do some ink blending.

While my ink dried, I cut a piece of white cardstock to be 10" x 7". Then I put it on my Score-Buddy and folded it in half to create a 5" x 7" card base.

Lastly, using foam tape, I adhered my card front to the card base. I now have a completed card using four shades of purple, a white base, and a black sentiment. All that is left to do is write a personalized note inside and give it away!
