Card or Scrapbook Layout?

Welcome to my blog, Paper Crafting With Rebecca!

When I first started paper crafting I was obsessed with finding layouts that provided the exact measurements I needed to recreate the layout. Then I started making my own layouts for both scrapbook pages and cards, again, being careful to record exact measurements... but then I started to relax a bit and just let the creativity take over. I started drawing layout sketches and not worrying about the measurements and I discovered that I could then use the same layout for both cards and scrapbook pages!

Here is a video I made demonstrating this technique using one such layout...

This relaxed technique makes creating so much more fun! Here are a few close ups of the cards and scrapbook pages from the video...

The ink I used for blending was Goldrush on top of a white card base.

I love the effect of the Clear Shimmer Brush on top of those yellow hearts!

The patterned paper is from the Summer Vibes Paper Packet and works perfect for this 8.5" x 11" scrapbook page celebrating a summer day on the beach!

I used the same layout to create this 12" x 12" scrapbook page as I did for the cards!

I hope this video and blog encourages you to design some easy layouts for your paper crafting without the stress of exact measurements. Draw the design and then use it for whatever project you are wanting to create. Flexibility is liberating!

Let me know in the comments below if you already create this way or if you are going to give it a try.

Happy Paper Crafting,
Rebecca
