Score One for No-Die Spines

Welcome to my blog, Paper Crafting With Rebecca!

If you are a beginning paper crafter (or even an experienced one who remembers those days) then you might be overwhelmed with all the crafting supply options available out there. I often ask myself, "should I purchase this tool or can I do the job myself with something already found in my craft area?" Now that I have been paper crafting for a number of years I have many of the fun crafting tools accumulated, however, I remember having to learn how to "do the job with what I already own" many times!

To demonstrate this, I made this video showing how I progressed from scoring projects using a kids paint brush up to buying a scoring tool such as the Scor-Pal. Scoring is a basic, but important, skill in paper crafting. Once you have scoring down then there is nothing stopping you from creating your own spines for card-books, journals, memory books, etc. (as demonstrated in this video) without having to use a die. Take a few minutes to watch this video to see what I mean...

So what do you think? Do you already make your own spines? If so, how do you make yours? (Let me know in the comments below.)

Thank you for watching my videos. I love reading your comments when you leave them for me.

Happy Paper Crafting,
Rebecca
